TSSA Information
Happy Party Rentals is TSSA-licensed, meaning we can now offer bouncy castles for your public events!
If your event is open to the public, held in a public space, charges admission, or is expected to have more than 100 attendees, you can only use TSSA-compliant inflatable devices. TSSA requirements help ensure inflatables are properly inspected, maintained, installed, and operated in accordance with Ontario safety regulations.
What is TSSA?
The Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) is Ontario's safety regulator responsible for overseeing a variety of public safety programs, including inflatable amusement devices. TSSA helps ensure regulated inflatables are inspected, maintained, and operated safely.
Is my event regulated by TSSA?
If you're planning a public event in Ontario, your inflatable may be subject to TSSA requirements. This commonly includes events such as:
- Community festivals and celebrations
- Municipal and city events
- School fairs and fundraisers
- Church and community organization events
- Charity events and fundraisers
- Events in Parks / Campsites
- Street festivals and neighbourhood celebrations
- Agricultural fairs and exhibitions
- Corporate events
- Events where admission is charged
- Events held in public spaces
- Large gatherings with more than 100 attendees
If you're unsure whether your event falls under TSSA requirements, contact Happy Party Rentals. We'll help determine what's required and provide TSSA-compliant inflatable options when applicable.
What does being TSSA-licensed mean?
Being TSSA-licensed means that Happy Party Rentals has met the safety standards and requirements set by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) for operating inflatable amusement devices in Ontario. This ensures that our inflatables are properly inspected, maintained, and operated in compliance with provincial safety regulations.
